INDUSTRY.co.id - West Lombok - Gili Terminal development project, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, entered the stage of land maturing before the physical development, said General Manager of Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) III Branch Sheet Made Rusli Suniajaya.
On the sidelines of welcoming a thousand foreign tourists passengers cruise ship MV Sun Princess at Sheet Port, West Lombok regency, Thursday (05/17/2018) Made Rusli Suniajaya said that the project will cost more than Rp1 trillion is currently being run in accordance with the planning .
He estimates the port on 100 hectares of land with the company's fund starting to operate in 2019. The location is located west of Lembar Port, West Lombok regency.
"The construction of Gili Mas Terminal as a form of our commitment in developing port facilities in NTB, especially the terminal of cruise ships and containers," said Rusli.
According to him, Pelindo's dock infrastructure in the Sheet Port is still not possible to support relatively large yard-sized docks.
Each cruise ship carrying thousands of foreign tourists can only be anchored so that its passengers are transported to the dock by using a "thunder boat" or a kind of lifeboat.
Therefore, said Rusli, Gili Mas Port dock will be designed with a depth of up to -14 meters LWS (below water level).
"With the depth of the dock that has been designed in such a way will enable the cruise ship can be docked so that tourists can go down at the pier," he said as quoted by Antara.
He said that the design and construction of cruise ship dock and container pier at Gili Mas Terminal is done by PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero).
PT PP with PT Wika Gedung is a State Owned Enterprise (BUMN) working on maritime development project located in three ports, Tanjung Perak in Surabaya, Benoa in Bali, and Gili Mas Lembar in Lombok.
"Currently, PP is implementing the development of road access on reclaimed land which was completed in March 2018," he said.
