2019, Kediri Airport has been built and can be landed by Boeing 777 aircraft

INDUSTRY.co.id - Kediri- Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the airport development in Kediri by PT Gudang Garam has received various recommendations. Among them are the Kediri Regency Government and the Air Force related to the opening of the air military zone.

Budi Karya said that land acquisition in Tarokan Sub-district, which will be the location of the airport development, has reached 80 percent. In the first phase of the runway that will be built along the 2400 meters, enough for the operational commercial aircraft Boeing 737. But the future of this airport will be maximized in order to become the foundation of Boeing 777 aircraft.

Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung who also attended the inauguration of the bridge in Kediri with Budi Karya and Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono said the development of Kediri airport is a national strategic project. The government will help the land acquisition issue, said Pramono Anung.

Alluded to the attitude of citizens who refused to build the airport by maintaining their land, Pramono considered it reasonable. But because the project is in the interest of the public, he hopes the project will continue.

Meanwhile, anticipating the flow of Eid later, the Ministry of Transportation ensures all transportation access is complete. In fact, the Jakarta toll road segment is already connected.

Nevertheless, Budi Karya asked the community not to leave the pantura line as a homecoming route. Because the number of new toll roads that operate will make the atmosphere of the pantura lane empty. Maybe the pantura line is more empty, he said.

He also urged people not to delay the schedule of going home until nearing Eid. The recommended time for going home is from D-7 to D-5 to avoid congestion.
