President Jokowi Welcomes Official Visit of Indian Prime Minister

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - President Joko Widodo welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India who made an official visit to Indonesia on 29-31 May 2018.
PM Modi arrived at the courtyard of Merdeka Palace on Wednesday at 10.15 am ride VVIP vehicle escorted by archipelago troops consisting of equestrian troops and Paspampres drum band.
President Jokowi shake hands PM Modi after getting off the vehicle and took him to the pulpit of honor to attend the official welcome ceremony by listening to the national anthem of both countries.
The 19-times cannon boom accompanies the national anthem drumband.
In addition, Jokowi and Modi also checked the ranks of the ceremonial troops and headed for the credentials to fill in the guest book and hold a "tete-a-tete" meeting at the Merdeka Palace.
A number of officials who also welcomed PM Modi include Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Marine Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.
Next, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Health Minister Enggartiasto Lukita, Head of BKPM Thomas Lembong and Indonesian Ambassador to India Sidartho Suryodipuro.
According to the presidential agenda, the two leaders also held bilateral meetings and witnessed the announcement of cooperation documents.
Bilateral issues should be discussed in meetings, from maritime, economic, socio-cultural, and regional and global issues.
In addition to the event at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, President Jokowi and PM Modi will visit the Indian-Indonesia Kite Festival in Monas Square.
While in Jakarta, Modi will also meet the Indian diaspora at the Jakarta Convention Center.
India's 14th Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the second CEO of Indonesia-India Forum, having first held in 2016 on the sidelines of President Jokowi's visit to India.
The forum aims to enhance business cooperation between the two countries.
