President Jokowi Praised the Election of Indonesia as Member of UNSC

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- President Joko Widodo praised the election of Indonesia as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2019-2020.
"Alhamdulillah Indonesia was elected to be a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council," the president said in a comment on Twitter's social media account.
Indonesia was elected to be a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the Asia Pacific regional group from 2019-2020 period through voting or voting at the UN General Assembly.
Indonesia won 144 votes through a closed-door election process at the UN General Assembly.
According to the President, Indonesia will continue to participate in building world order.
"We will play a world order based on freedom, eternal peace, and social justice," the president said in his citation.
In addition to Indonesia, other countries are also selected to represent the region of South Africa for the African region group, Dominican Republic for Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Germany and Belgium for the region of Western Europe and other countries.
