INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II is ready to develop Kijing Port, West Kalimantan with Rp14 trillion investment after the signing of a concession with the Ministry of Transportation.
President Director of PT Pelindo II Elvyn G Masassya in the signing of the Kijing Port concession at the Ministry of Transportation, Jakarta, Thursday (12/7/218) said the first phase of investment is Rp3.5 trillion to increase capacity from 500,000 TEUs to two million TEUs.

The term of the concession agreement will last for 69 years.
The declaration of the construction of the Kijing Terminal located in Mempawah District, West Kalimantan, has been done in April 2018. With the signing of this agreement, the issuance of development permit will be issued from the Ministry of Transportation.
"With this permit, IPC can start physical construction in the form of mounting piles both on land and at sea Parallel waiting for the signing of the concession agreement, IPC has also done land clearing work and conducted soil investigation survey prepared for the installation of the pile," he said.
He said the Kijing Terminal consists of these four terminals, ranging from multifunctional terminals, liquid bulk, dry bulk and containers.
"In the early stage, we start a multipower terminal that can serve various types of goods, which is the initial stage to be operated by the end of 2019," he said.
The Government assigns PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) to develop and implement port services for the Port of Pontianak Port, West Kalimantan Province based on Presidential Decree No. 43 of 2017 on the Acceleration of Development and Operation of the Port of Pontianak Gaza Terminal in West Kalimantan.
The signing of this Concession Agreement was carried out by the President Director of IPC, Elvyn G Masassya and Head of the Port Authority Office of Pontianak Second Class Pontianak, Bintang Novi, witnessed by Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi.
The scope of this concession agreement covers the granting of rights to IPC to undertake the development and exploitation of port services, including the development of the terminal and its supporting facilities in accordance with the stage of development in the concession area; the establishment of segments and objects of the concession agreement; implementation of tariff arrangement and tariff for seaport services at Terminal Kijing Port of Pontianak; payment of concession income and the transfer of assets from IPC to the Office of Kesyahbandaran and Port Authority of Class II Pontianak.
For the construction of the Kijing Terminal, IPC has appointed PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) as the implementer with a project value of Rp2.74 trillion.
WIKA will carry out the construction of the terminal from the construction side of the sea dock, port management area (port management area), bridge connecting, "container yard" and other facilities.
Teminal Kijing developed with the concept of digital port equipped with modern loading and unloading equipment.
From the beginning the Gaza Terminal was designed to facilitate the loading and unloading of large ships.
As one of the national strategic projects, Kijing Terminal will become the largest international standard port in Kalimantan. Its existence will be integrated with the Special Economic Zone (KEK), so it will support the acceleration of economic growth in West Kalimantan.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, on the same occasion hopes that the 69-year concession agreement could provide a big role in logistics connectivity in Indonesia.
"Hope we support this, connectivity in western Indonesia is getting better and we know West Kalimantan and its surroundings are very advanced economic points marked Pontianak so advanced," he said.
With the Port of Kijing, Budi said West Kalimantan's competitiveness will increase.
"My hope for logistics connectivity in West Kalimantan, which has been relatively stagnant, will grow and around Kijinv will grow economic activities that are beneficial to Indonesia's economic activity," he said.
