INDUSTRY.co.id - The development of nine industrial estates in the next three years while waiting for the realization of development plans in other industrial zones became the government's priority program.
"Government support will be concentrated on industrial areas that can operate in the short term," said Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto, to the press in Jakarta on Tuesday (27/12).
The government, according to Airlangga, should set priority support because the development of industrial estate is a process can not be completed within three to five years.
"Previously we decided there were 14 industrial areas to be built, but this is medium term because all projects start from zero," he said.
Airlangga added, in the next three years, it will focus on supporting industrial areas that already operate. Support is provided in the form of infrastructure development to increase industrial access in the area to ports, toll roads, power plants, and raw water.
"The connectivity is carried out by the government and incorporated this as a national priority project which aims to increase investment," Airlangga said.
The nine industrial estates are Sei Mangkei, Morowali, Bantaeng, Tanjung Buton and Dumai, Berau, Tanah Kuning, Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE) Gresik, Kendal and Wilmar.
Related to Kendal Industrial Area, in an opportunity Founder Jababeka, SD Darmono, has a high target in the development of KIK up to five years into the future. This man from Magelang said that in the next three to five years KIK is expected to be able to develop industrial land up to 860 hectares.
In that timeframe, KIK is also targeted to hold new investors up to 300 companies. With that amount, Darmono calculates, able to absorb or empower 500 thousand workers.
"Each of 100,000 direct workers, 400,000 indirect laborers, will be preferred from Kendal people," said Darmono.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Jababeka Tbk Budianto Liman said that KIK is built on 2,700 hectares of land.
The first phase of the development of the region will be conducted on 860 hectares of land projected over the next 3 to 4 years. The investment for the first phase of development cost Rp 160 trillion to Rp 200 trillion.
The area will also be equipped with electricity, housing, and logistics facilities. With the facility, he believes logistics entrepreneurs can enter the industrial site.
"Later we will create our own market share, here will be equipped with labor center, skilled workers according to industry interests, this investment is what investors need," he said.
