President Jokowi Inspects Area Arrangement in Medan City

INDUSTRY.co.id - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Sunday (01/12) inspected the area arrangement of Medan city in North Sumatra province.

“The area arrangement will create significant changes in the next few years,” the President said in his press statement at the Medan Bloc Post, Medan.

According to the President, there will be iconic buildings or landmarks of Medan city, including Merdeka Square and Kesawan Square.

“The area will serve as a venue for several activities and events,” he said, while expressing a view that the most important thing in the area arrangement is integrating various interests.

“It requires courage because some buildings are state-owned, while some are privately owned. The hardest part is integrating diverse interests. However, I have seen that it has been started. That will be great,” he said.

On that occasion, the President, Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi, and Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution were also cycling in the car-free day area while inspecting the ongoing infrastructure projects.

“Well, I go cycling with the Governor and the Mayor to inspect the start of urban planning in Medan city,” the President remarked.
