INDUSTRY.co.id - Tangerang - Ministry of Cooperatives and SME optimize the role of micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) and empower cooperatives in the country.
"The policy to increase the level of cooperatives and SMEs, especially for micro-scale enterprises in order to be able to open more jobs and at the same time increase income or better income for the welfare of its employees," said Deputy of Business Restructuring Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Abdul Kadir Damanik accompanied by Assistant Deputy Assistance Eviyanti Nasution when opening the event "Capacity Improvement UMKM Through the Indonesian National Work Competence Standards (SKKNI)" in Tangerang, Wednesday (23/8).
The event was followed by representatives of academics, associations and assistants of UMKM and PLUT from various regions.
Based on data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, there were 59,267,759 micro-enterprises or about 99 percent, small businesses of 681,522 units or 1.15 percent, medium-sized businesses of 59,263 units or 0.10 percent and 4,987 large business units or 0.1 percent .
With the number of business actors, according to Abdul Kadir Damanik, there is a structure of imbalance between the number of micro business actors with small businesses, medium businesses and large enterprises.
"Therefore, it is necessary to assist in realizing the partnership pattern between MSMEs and large scale business, so that UMKM can increase the turnover and increase the income for its employees," said Abdul Kadir Damanik.
He also said that with a large number of MSMEs and its broad spread includes 34 provinces and 514 districts / cities and limited mentor resources, the presence of co-workers is very strategic and needed.
Currently, the number of assistants who can be recruited by the Ministry of cooperatives and SMEs as many as 4242 people consisting of civil servants and non-civil servants. Through synergy with BDS throughout Indonesia there are 2,253 additional companion staffs so that the total number is 6,495 people. "But this is still below the number of existing districts as much as 7,000-one, preferably 1 sub-district 1 business assistant," said Abdul Kadir Damanik.
