President Jokowi Targets Licensing Center Building Operations 2018

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- President Joko Widodo targets his staff that by early 2018, the government should have a central building that specifically manages licenses.

The President on the occasion at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Jakarta, Thursday also criticized the issuance for the securitization of KIK EBA Mandiri JSMR01 assets owned by PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSM) which took up to nine months.

"Beginning next year, January or February 2018, we have to have one building that is specialized in licensing affairs," he said.

Jokowi, the president's familiar greeting, said the building will be the location of licensing arrangements with a single submission system.

"This system of application of this arrangement must be prepared, all must be managed with 'Single Submission'," he said.

Jokowi said the simplification of licensing should be applied in all agencies. The ranks of the government, which still has a complicated bureaucratic permit, will be reprimanded by the President.

"It used to be very difficult for business at the Investment Coordinating Board (BPKM) for many years, but now it can be three hours after eight permits, and I will also tell the Ministers not to be monthly or yearly," he said.

Related to the duration of the securitization of KIK EBA Mandiri JSMR01 assets owned by PT Jasa Marga, Jokowi criticized the related process which took up to nine months.

Jokowi called directly the President Director of PT. Jasa Marga Desi Aryani before inaugurating the registration of such securitization.

According to Desi, the process of securization takes time because it must equate perceptions with various parties about the investment KIK-EBA.

Then, Jasa Marga also must wait for confirmation letter from the Directorate General of Taxation of the Ministry of Finance regarding the unnecessary of Value Added Tax (VAT).

"What is not yet VAT, if the PPH already.Investors need a written explanation does not need VAT that is a statement that does not need VAT," she said.

Jokowi asks the Directorate General of Taxes in the future to be faster and not linger in issuing the VAT-free confirmation letter.

"Letter of confirmation like this can be months. Ouch," said Jokowi.

The President took the lead in recording the investment securitization of KIK EBA Mandiri JSMR01 assets owned by PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR). The securities are based on Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi Toll (Jagorawi) toll revenue.
