INDUSTRY.co.id - Expert Staff Menkominfo Henri Subiakto reveals, technology at the present time is like an extension of human life. Because, according to Henri, millennial such generation cannot live without technology or devices such as HP in his hands.
"Just 7 minutes we can separate (with HP), but longer we will search for it Now because this part of the life of the community, anything must be through digital technology," he said in a discussion themed 'Digital Technology and Cyber Crime in Online Media' organized by the International Journalists Association (IWO) at Hotel Puri Mega, Central Jakarta, Friday (08/09/2017).
Henri said, all the news, especially the trending topic, comes from online media or social media and not from mass media like television.
"If the first mass communication, if now communication that reaches many people through self to self," he said.
According to Henri, the numbers of people who access the news from the online media due to the speed of the online media are not owned by print or television media.
"There is a fast online media ride, if the first seconds, overtaken Tribune because he's a lot of everywhere they have a buser.
While the television media, Henri added, this time seems more filled by drama scenes rather than news.
Meanwhile, the Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), Lieutenant General Pur (Agus Widjojo) revealed that the IWO has a role to brighten the public about the true news and become the front guard in preventing false or hoax news.
According to Agus, reading news and stories from social media is a trend that becomes the needs of the society of social media users today, but people should be able to judge from the truth of the news so as not to be affected by hoax news that spread hatred.
Agus said, now people should have the capacity to counter the news of hatred and hoax.
"For the public, in general to assess the information there are two aspects that can be assessed, first look at the source of the news, whether the source is credible or the information has been heard before," said Agus.
Agus explained, there are two aspects that can be judged that the information received is allegedly true or not.
"First is to ensure the credibility of news sources," he said.
Second, Agus continued, being critical of the news content by checking it from other news sources.
"If the information is received, the public should be critical and ask whether it is logical or not, logically what is not if I receive this info, if it is not logical, then it should be questioned about news like this," he said.
According to Agus, there are points that need to be improved to provide a deterrent effect for those who spread the word hatred, in addition to law enforcement.
"Firstly, technology can be comparable to the competencies, their technology is spreading the hoax, in addition law enforcement must be concrete and can be measured to say who violates and should be dealt with," he said.
