INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- PT Bank Central Asia Tbk stated that 5,700 machines of Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) BCA and some cash offices have been operating normally after the repair due to Telkom-1 Satellite interference.
President Director of BCA Jahja Setiaatmadja in Jakarta, Tuesday, said that with the restoration of the entire network, the policy of freeing BCA customers' cash withdrawal through other bank ATMs is not valid after September 11, 2017.
"The exemption of administrative fees for cash withdrawal transactions at other bank ATMs is valid until September 11, 2017," he said.
Jahja apologizes for the inconvenience of customers during the disturbance and the recovery process is still ongoing.
"BCA is also grateful for the alertness of all telecommunication service provider partners, so that the ATM network connectivity recovery process can run smoothly and unhindered," he said.
On Friday (25/8), an anomaly or interruption to Telkom-1 satellite that was more than 15 years old and causing some ATM networks of some banks could not operate.
As a result of the anomaly, a total of 5,700 Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) machines and 126 BCA cash offices were unable to operate.
In the recovery process, BCA prepares a compensation scheme for customers by substituting cash withdrawal fees if the customer withdraws cash from a BCA account through another bank's ATM. The replacement of the cash withdrawal fee is made by BCA at the end of the month directly to the customer's account.
