INDUSTRY.co.id - Surabaya- Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) Mohamad Nasir said many universities have problems with lecturers, especially on "home base" lecturers.
"For example at every level of study program S1, S2 and S3, each requirement must have at least six lecturers, whereas lecturers who teach S1 also teach S2 and S3," said Minister of Research and Technology after opening deliberation Association of Private Higher Education Indonesia (Aptisi ) area VII East Java, in Surabaya, Saturday (16/09/2017)
Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education will do the arrangement, so that the requirements of the number of lecturers who teach in each study program is not absolute six people. That's because lecturers who teach in undergraduate study programs, can also teach at postgraduate level.
"The goal is to increase college flexibility," he added.
The arrangement of lecturer’s placement is not only done at every level of study program, but also in the faculty. Former Rector selected Diponegoro University gave an example, lecturers on the faculty of economics who teach in accounting and management are the same.
"Going forward, by sharing resources can be better. This is the reality on the field that often happens in college." Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education has issued a regulation on the lecturer's "home base" and plans to be implemented in October 2017.
On that occasion, the Minister of Research and Technology also asked universities not to be pegged to the nomenclature in applying for the licensing of study program. This is due to the rapid development of science.
Director General of Institutional Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Patdono Suwignjo, said the arrangement of "home base" lecturer is aimed at the efficiency of lecturers in each study program.
"For example, for lecturers of S1, there should be six lecturers, S2 and S3 as well. Each lecturer, for example, has 30 students. But for S3, most of the students are only six.So the arrangement of the lecturer's home base to overcome the lecturer's" explains Patdono. (Ant)
