The Livestock Industry Must Work from Upstream to Downstream

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - President Joko Widodo wants the livestock industry in Indonesia to be built in corporation with professionals working from upstream to downstream.
"To cultivate livestock, there is seed industry, animal feed, from upstream to downstream consolidated in one organization, agriculture as well.If it can be consolidated well, it will be more efficient," said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Jokowi said that in front of about 1,200 sheep breeders who are carrying out "National Livestock Jamboree 2017" at Earth Camp and Graha Wisata Cibubur East Jakarta, Sunday (24/09/2017)
According to him, if the breeders in Indonesia are able to consolidate their business and more efficient then the possibility for exports is even greater.
That way, he said, the livestock sector of Indonesia can compete with other countries because it has been able to properly illustrate the livestock sector.
"If the price is still less competitive, it means there is inefficient in our livestock industry," he said.
The president said he would see firsthand the livestock industry in the area covering Yogyakarta, West Java, and Central Java to be able to find out how far the industry is developing to date.
