Government Support the Development of Special Economic Zone and Integrated Industrial Zone Sectors

INDUSTRY.co.id - Balikpapan- A number of inputs were delivered by BI Governor Agus Martowardojo in coordination meeting of Central Government, Local Government, and Bank Indonesia in Balikpapan, Friday (14/7/2017).

In this Meeting, the Governor explained how to encourage the development of special economic zones and industrial zones in an integrated manner.

Agus D. Martowardojo stated that there are at least 3 policies agreed upon in the outcome of this meeting. "We conclude that we identify strategies to expand resource diversification in the region to be directed at 3 main policies," Agus said.

The 3 policies are:

First strengthening basic infrastructure development of the region, developing skilled human resource investment and strengthening bureaucratic governance.

The second is to optimize the various sectors of regional economy, either through vertical diversification or horizontal diversification.

Third, that is to develop a special economic zone and industrial area in an integrated manner.

In this Coordination Meeting, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Luhut Binsar Panjaitan explained how to push the policy strategy of diversification of sources of regional economic growth, especially in Kalimantan.

"From this meeting, we will soon have a concern about the economic growth of the region, especially in Kalimantan, including about the layout of Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan), for example we will meet next week calling the relevant agencies what the problem," said Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
