INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi has issued a new regulation related to the implementation of an application-based taxi online through the draft revision of Ministerial Regulation No. 26 of 2016.
In the draft Revision PM 26 of 2017 on the Transportation of People With Public Motor Vehicles Not In Trajectory, there are several things that added one of them is the obligation of insurance that must be owned by the company of taxi online.
"There are some things that are added, now there is still a private SIM A, so there should be a general SIM A to be made, secondly, there should be insurance," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya at a press conference at the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Office Jakarta.
The formulation of the Revised PM 26 of 2017 includes Taxi Taxi, Tariff, Operation Area, Quota / Requirement Planning, Minimum Requirements for Five Vehicles, Proof of Ownership of Vehicles, Domicile of TNKB (Motor Vehicle Identity Number), SRUT (Type Test Certificate) of Motor Vehicles, and Role of Applicator.
Minister of Transportation explains the additional rules, namely the company of special transport operators or taxis online shall have insurance to ensure the safety of passengers.
In addition to insurance, online taxi drivers who were previously allowed to use a private SIM A, must now have a SIM A General according to their class.
Other points added in this Revision of PT 26/2017 are the application company's obligation to grant digital dashboard access to the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Director General of Land Transportation, Head of BPTJ or Governor in accordance with its authority.
Additional rules also include a special lease rental sticker (ASK). An online taxi vehicle will be affixed with a ASK sticker on the top right and rear windshield and to the right and left of the vehicle body containing the operating area information, the validity period of the permit, the name of the legal entity and the background of the Transportation logo.
The MoC states that the Revision of PM 26 of 2017 will be effective starting on November 1, 2017.
Previously, Kemenhub has held discussions with all parties including FGDs in Jakarta, Surabaya and Makassar, and public tests conducted in Jakarta and Batam.
The public test involves stakeholders including legal experts, transportation observers, DPP Organda, Application Company, and the public for the completion of PM 26 of 2017.
This discussion is to establish the best arrangement that can provide equal space to all transport operators, especially in the field of road transport. Furthermore, Kemenhub will hold public discussion again in five cities.
