Palm Oil Business Actor From 23 Countries Will Attend IPOC 2017 in Bali

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - A total of 1,500 business players from business sectors in the palm oil industry chain from 23 countries, ready to attend 13th IPOC (Indonesian Palm Oil Conference) and 2018 Price Outlook at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on 1-3 November 2017. In particular, IPOC 2017 was attended by representatives of oil palm farmers.
The plan, the largest palm oil conference of this universe, opened Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution. A number of relevant ministers are scheduled to attend, namely Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Trade (Mendag) Enggartiasto Lukita, and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial / Head of BPN Sofyan A Djalil.
In addition, a number of world economic and commodity experts participated as speakers at the conference that became the reference of the world's business people. "This year we take the theme of Growth through Productivity, Partnership with Smallholders," said Chairperson IPOC 2017, Mona Surya in a press release to Jakarta on Monday (23/10/2017).
"From this theme we will gain insight on how to manage future oil palm plantations in line with the increasingly concerned global demand with sustainability issues, especially the relationship between companies and farmers," Mona said.
Mona said Coordinating Minister Darmin will deliver the opening remarks by describing the direction of government policies related to the development of the national palm oil industry. Because of the increasing role of the palm oil industry to the national economy in terms of the contribution of foreign exchange exports, poverty alleviation, and employment.
Meanwhile, Minister Sofyan Djalil will deliver the exposure related to spatial policy which became the foundation of palm oil industry development in Indonesia. "We are grateful that the number of participants of this year's conference is not inferior to IPOC last year, in addition 96 booths have been sold out of the total of 98 available exhibition booths.Problem issues of palm oil became an issue that received great attention from business actors around the world," said Mona.
In addition to ministers and state officials, some experts will be the speakers at the two-day conference. Among these are Alexandre P Cooman (Cenipalma), Dato Dzulkifli Abd Wahab (Felda), representatives of Bank Mandiri, Rino Afrino (Apkasindo / Association of Indonesian Oil Palm Farmers), Mahendra Siregar (Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries / CPOPC), and Dr Sri Adiningsih (Presidential Advisory Council).
Shown as speakers are Bayu Krisnamurthi (Indonesian Society of Agricultural Economics / Perhepi), Dono Boestami (Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency / BPDPKS), Dodi Reza Alex Noerdin (Musi Banyuasin Regent), Suroso Rahutomo (PPKS Researcher) Mariadaniela Bolanos (Grepalma) , Thomas Mielke, ISTA Mielke GmbH (Oil World), James Fry (LMC International Ltd UK), Rasheed Janmohammad (Pakistan Edible Oil Refiners Association / PEORA), and Dorab Mistry (Godrej International Ltd, UK).
"Speakers from overseas have already spoken several times in IPOC, but there are some new ones, one of which is James Fry whose analysis is always awaited by the participants," said Mona.
Not only will the conference, IPOC 2017 also be enlivened with exhibitions followed by companies from various sectors in the palm oil industry chain. In addition, to enliven events such as IPOC the previous year, the day before the conference opened, held a golf tournament at New Kuta Golf, Bali.
