INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The development of PT Krakatau Steel Tbk (KRAS) has reached over 25%.
"In the first phase, the production capacity of this plant is targeted at 1.5 million tons per year," said General Manager of Research and Technology of Krakatau Steel, Yusuf Marhaban in Jakarta, Thursday (26/10/2017).
The HSM II plant is part of a steel cement production capacity upgrade project in the Cilegon cluster to 10 million tons per year by 2025.
"Hopefully, the schedule can be completed by 2019. If there is a delay, we will keep to the target," said Yusuf.
In the initial phase, the HSM II plant will produce 1.5 million tons of hot rolled coil and will be developed to 3 million tons by 2021.
The company's HSM I plant currently produces HRC of 2.4 million tons and will be developed to 4 million tons by 2025.
In addition to HSM I and II plants, PT Krakatau Posco also contributed 1.5 million tons of steel plate production. Thus, to achieve 10 million tons of steel production by 2025, Krakatau Steel has to build a new plant with a capacity of 1.5 million tons.
