INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) will develop an industrial estate in East Kalimantan. BUMI will build petrochemical companies, shipyards and smelter facilities in industrial areas that will consume the coal energy.

Currently, we are preparing an area of 1,000 hectares to be developed into an industrial estate. The feasibility study is planned to be completed in 2018 and continued with investment search, said Ari Saptari Hoedaja, President Director of BUMI.

After meeting Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Industry, in Jakarta, Tuesday (31/10/2017), Ari said, there are many foreign investor who are interested to take part in the development of the industrial estate.

Some want to partner, but we have not decided yet because we are still waiting for the results of the review to be done. For this industrial area, it hopes the Ministry of Industry can facilitate the granting of permits, said Ari.

Although many foreign investors who want to partner, BUMI management is still not knowing the technology that will be used later. However, until now there are 3 options, namely from Europe, the United States or China.

Meanwhile, I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan, Director General of Metal Industries of Transportation Equipment Machinery of the Ministry of Industry, confirmed that his party is fully committed to support the BUMI plan.

We will help accelerate the issuance of Industrial Area Business License (IUKI). If IUKI already published, then the construction process will certainly be done soon, "said Putu.

Related to the location of the industrial estate development, the Ministry of Industry wants to develop the industrial area in Maloy Batuta Trans Kalimantan (MBTK). However, it remains to be discussed in detail. (Abraham Sihombing)
