IT Experts Will Meet in Indonesia Honeynet Project Conference 2017

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - To improve information security in the country, a number of IT Security volunteers who are members of Honeynet will hold the Indonesia Honeynet Project Conference 2017 which took place on September 5 at Balai Kartini and 6 September 2017 at Harris FX.

"We hope this community can help the government, educational institutions, and private companies to better prepare for the increasingly complex cyber security attacks," said Charles Lim, Indonesia Honeynet Project Lead, in a press conference at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics on Thursday (20 / 7/2017).

He said the ability of IT security becomes more crucial considering Indonesia still face serious problems in this area. Indonesia has a score of 23.54 percent of computers affected by malware attacks. This figure places Indonesia in the 10 most vulnerable countries affected by malware attacks, more vulnerable than neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Thailand.

Vulnerability of IT security posture Indonesia not only pose a risk of financial loss, but also the good name and sovereignty of this nation. "In order to improve the posture of IT Security, it takes cooperation involving every stakeholder, academic institution, and private company," he said.

Indonesia Honeynet Project Conference 2017 will discuss information about the trend of security attacks in Indonesia. Improving the ability to detect and tackle IT Security issues, as well as engage further in cooperation to improve internet security throughout Indonesia and the world.
