The opening of the Honorary Consul office in the capital of Albania was attended by officials of the Government of Albania, diplomatic corps, businessmen and media in Tirana.

Sri Astari Rasjid said that the appointment of Irma Kaplani as the Honorary Consul of RI is an important milestone in the improvement of the Bilateral Relation between Indonesia and Albania. It is hoped that this will further encourage the improvement of Indonesia-Albania relations in the future, especially in the economic and socio-cultural field.
The opening of this honorary consul office is also a form of concern for the protection of Indonesian Citizens and support for the Indonesian diaspora in Albania.
Albania is a country located in southeastern Europe with a population of 2.7 million and about 70 percent of the population is Muslim.
Total trade between the two countries experienced a significant increase of 88.81 percent, from US $ 5.66 million (in 2015) to 10.69 million US dollars in 2016.
Indonesia's main export products are paper, animal and vegetable oil, marine and rubber products.
