Alert, Candida Nicotine under Heroin-Cocaine

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Psychiatrist Mental Hospital Soeharto Heerdjan Jakarta dr. Adhi Wibowo Nurhidayat SpKJ (K) MPH said nicotine addiction is very dangerous and is ranked third after heroin and cocaine.

"The nicotine addiction, the substance contained in the cigarette, comes after heroin and cocaine," said Adhi in a discussion in Jakarta yesterday.

Adhi said the drugs consist of two large groups, which are prohibited in general use and which are still allowed. What is included is still allowed are alcohol and cigarettes.

Psychiatrists who deal with many cases related to addictive substances that say nicotine at low doses does have the effect of making someone become calm.

"It's the effect of addictive substances, because feeling calm, eventually becoming addicted," he said.

According to Adhi, smokers are actually aware of the negative effects of smoking. However, the calming effect was a pretext for them to smoke. They argue in order to work well, it needs to smoke.
