Papua Governor: Freeport Refuses to Pay Water Tax Reaches Rp3.6 Trillion

INDUSTRY.co.id - Papua Governor Lukas Enembe asked PT Freeport Indonesia to immediately pay the surface water tax and penalties amounting to Rp 3.6 trillion, which has been going on for 2011 to 2016.
"Freeport has been reluctant to pay surface water tax since 2011 if it has reached Rp 3.6 trillion. Based on the Regional Regulation of Papua No. 4 of 2011 on local taxes, water taxes have been set from Rp 10 per cubic / second set to Rp 120 per cubic meter / sec," Lukas told a press conference at the Pullman Hotel on Friday (27/1). /2017).
Lukas said that the trial of the lawsuit, which has been implemented from 2015 to 2017 in a lawsuit related to surface water problems, now won by the Papua provincial government, and then PT Freeport must carry out the decision of the trial.
