Indonesia Confirms Support for Palestine Unchanged

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bogor- President RI Joko Widodo affirmed that the support of the government and people of Indonesia to the independence of Palestinians will not change.
"I myself will also be there to confirm all of us, how we, our support, our people, to Palestine is unchanged," said President in opening remarks of the National Working Competition of the Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI) at the Presidential Palace of Bogor on Friday (8/12/2017)
According to Jokowi, he has contacted several heads of OIC member states such as Emir Qatar Sheikh Tamim and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas regarding his presence to the conference which will take place in Turkey.
The president plans to return to call Mahmoud Abbas on Friday night.
The head of state also expressed his disappointment at the attitude of US President Donald Trump who recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and was about to move his embassy from Tel Aviv to the city.
Jokowi expressed his frustration over Uncle Sam's foreign policy stance taken by Trump.
"Yes it is the sometimes annoying, sometimes painful, sometimes bizarre changes in the world, but that is the fact we are facing," said the President.
The President stressed that Trump's decision could disrupt world security.
"What we are afraid of, we are afraid, this will shake the stability of the security, the stability of peace in the world," he said.
