Irna Regent Asks Merchants Not to Raise Food Staples

INDUSTRY.co.id - Pandeglang - Pandeglang Regent, Banten Province, Irna Narulita asks traders in traditional markets not to raise the price of goods casually, especially for basic needs.
"Yesterday did sidak to Pasar Rhino, to monitor the condition of the price of basic needs, there is an increase but still reasonable," he said in Pandeglang, Monday (25/12/2017).
At the sidak to the largest traditional market in Pandeglang District, the regent visited the seller of basic necessities such as rice, cooking oil, market sugar, eggs, meat and vegetables.
"The goods are so needed by the community to be a focus in our monitoring," she said.
During the visit, Irna confessed to communicating with the merchants and asking them not to raise prices at will for the high demand on Christmas and New Year 2018.
She also stated that he has emphasized the Department of Industry, Trade and Energy Mineral Resources to regularly monitor prices to various traditional markets in the region.
In Pandeglang regency there are 14 traditional markets, and all must be monitored, with the hope of officers from related institutions traders also think to raise prices.
"With the monitoring from the Department of Industry, Trade and Energy Mineral Resources, hopefully, there will be no price hikes, even if there is an increase beyond fairness, it can be immediately solved," she told the media crew.
Head of Department of Industry, Trade and Energy Mineral Resources Andi Kusnardi said that the increase in the price of basic commodities is still within the limits of reasonableness.
"There is an increase but only a few traders, so not all traders raise prices, and even then it is still reasonable," he said.
The price of basic commodities that increase, such as beef from Rp110.000 / kg to Rp120.000, chicken meat from Rp32.000 / kg to Rp35.000 / kg, rice quality IR I from Rp10.200 / kg to Rp10.500 / kg.
