BPS Records Inflation Throughout 2017 Far Under the Target of APBN-P 2017

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded inflation in December 2017 in 82 cities in Indonesia by 0.71%. Inflation in December 2017 was higher than the previous month at 0.20%.
With that figure, BPS also recorded inflation throughout 2017 of 3.61% or far below the target of the State Budget of Revision (APBN-P) 2017 of 4.3%.
Head of BPS, Kecuk Suhariyanto said from 82 cities surveyed, the highest inflation occurred in Jayapura at 2.28% while the lowest inflation occurred in Sorong by 0.18%.
"The main cause of inflation in Jayapura is the increase in air freight rates," he explained at BPS Head Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/1/2018).
When compared month to month, inflation during 2017 was highest in January and December 2017 of 0.71%. Meanwhile, during 2017 there were twice deflation in March and August 2017.
"Inflation in December 2017 of 0.71% certainly in December (inflation) is higher than November due to the large number of requests on holiday. 0.71% inflation is higher than 2016 ie 0.42% but lower than 2015 ie 0, 96% and even December 2014 it reached 2.64%, "he explained.
