INDUSTRY.co.id - Aceh - PT PLN (Persero) through its subsidiary PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PT PJB) started the construction of Mobile Power Plant (PLPG) Aceh Phase I 50 Megawatt (MW).

Head of Regional Operations Division of PLN Sumatra, Supriyadi explained that the condition of power system in Aceh still need attention, where in certain condition still felt the existence of blackout. This is not because the power plant installed in Aceh is lacking, but more due to the disruption of some generating units.

"God willing, the generating capacity in Aceh is more than enough," he said in Jakarta, Thursday (4/1/2018).

However, he said, because the electricity system in Aceh is connected to the electricity system of North Sumatra, so that if there is interference in other areas, then some of the electricity supply from Aceh is also used to supply other areas. Vice versa.

Therefore, the development of Banda Aceh Mobile Power Plant in addition to strengthening the electricity system in Aceh, also to strengthen the electricity system of northern Sumatra.

"MPP Aceh is the first MPP project for PJB in the Sumatra region, and MPP Aceh will be built on an area of 4.7 hectares that will be able to increase the previous voltage of 128 kV to 149 kV on the Sumatra electricity system," he said.
