INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution expects Batam Enterprises Agency (BP) to further seek to invite investors for the economy in Batam to grow seven percent on target.
"The potential is high and room for big improvement, but it can only be achieved by cooperation and ability to invite investors in," said Darmin in the inauguration ceremony of the Free Trade Area and Free Ports (KPBPB) Batam Authority in the complex of Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Jakarta , Tuesday (23/1/2018)
The official who was inaugurated was Major General TNI Eko Budi Soepriyatno as Deputy of Other Facilities Facility of KPBPB Batam.
Darmin said that industrial and service activities in Batam can be higher than they are now in line with the development of the digital economy.
"Of course BP Batam can take advantage of this development," he said.
Darmin also said that Batam has many advantages, especially concerning infrastructure. The role of BP Batam and Batam City Government is needed to take advantage of the infrastructure's superiority to become the foundation of various activities.
On the same occasion, BP Head of Batam Lukita Dinarsyah Tuwo said there are two key things done to encourage investment in Batam, namely the provision of land and the ease of licensing.
Land provision is made by improving land administration and checking "sleep" so that the owner is willing to make an investment plan on the land. He estimates there are about 5,000 hectares of untapped land.
Then related licensing, BP Batam and Batam City Government committed to provide services through public service mall.
"So the services of BP Batam related land and investment licensing, as well as services from local government-related environmental impact analysis and building permit on one floor," said Lukita.
