In the Middle of January 2018, Ministry of ESDM Claims Electricity Program Has Operated 1,358 MW

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources noted that up to January 15, 2018, the 35,000 megawatt (MW) power plant construction program has been operated at 1,358 MW, of which 466 MW was built by PLN and the remaining 892 MW from IPP.
"The 35,000 MW plant has been operated in Sulawesi with a total of 538 MW, followed by Sumatra 455 MW, Maluku and Papua 135 MW, Kalimantan 126 MW, while the rest are spread in Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara by 104 MW," said Head of Bureau Communications, Public Information Services, and Cooperation Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Agung Pribadi, in Jakarta, Sunday (28/1/2018).
Agung said that currently as many as 17,096 MW has entered the construction phase around 5,657 MW by PLN and 11,439 from private developers.
"Of the 35,000 MW project, 17,096 MW or about 48% have already entered construction phase, while another 12,724 MW have been contracted but not yet Construction, so the contractor has not only contracted or only 4.682 MW Power Purchase Agreement, the trend is clear, positive, about 20,000 MW targeted to operate in 2019," said Agung.
In addition to the 35,000 MW projects there is also the construction of Fast Track Program (FTP) fazes 1 and 2 and the Regular Program of approximately 7,800 MW. Agung explained that the three programs, amounting to 6,395 MW of which have been in operation.
As is known, the 35,000 MW program contributes greatly to the electrification ratio. Until the end of 2017, the achievement of National Electrification ratio reaches 95.35%. This figure is higher than the target set, which is 92.75%.
