INDUSTRY.co.id - Mataram - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) allocates a budget of Rp3.5 billion in 2017 to build 130 solar power plants spread across West Nusa Tenggara.
Head of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources (Distamben) West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Yuliadi Ismono, in Mataram, Thursday (27/7/2017) said hundreds of solar power plants (PLTS) will be built in isolated areas scattered in Lombok East, North Lombok and Dompu.
"The project has been tendered, maybe the end of August 2017 the development process can be done," he said.
He said that the target of the recipient of the Spreader PLTS Program is the household that lives in an area that has not reached the electricity network from PLN.
The area is also expected to enjoy electricity from PLN within two to three years.
The target household, continued Yuliadi, is a recommendation from the district government that is included in the discussion at the development plan meeting (musrenbang).
"So the village or village that has been targeted has also been registered in the government that has not received electricity network services from PLN," he said as quoted by Antara.
He explained that the Spread Solar Program is one of the government's efforts in increasing the electrification ratio in NTB, through the utilization of renewable energy.
Electrification ratio is the ratio of the number of people who get electricity to the total population in an area.
Therefore, continued Yuliadi, target households should not have to come from poor citizens, but the people of the economy upward can also get because it has not been able to enjoy electricity from PLN.
"We do not see rich or poor, if he lives in the mountains or remote areas such as Tepal and Batu Rotok, in Sumbawa, where there is no PLN electricity network, PLTS can be supplied," he said.
Data of PLN NTB region recorded electrification ratio in NTB has reached 77.68 percent in 2016.
The state-owned company also targets the electrification ratio in NTB in 2019 to reach 90 percent.
