INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Alumni Association Board of the University of Indonesia (ILUNI UI) assessed the graduation of University of Indonesia (UI) since the independence era until millennial now has real acting in various struggles and development of nation and state unitary Republic of Indonesia. The real works have been perceived to be beneficial not by the Indonesian people and the world community.
"The role and the real work of UI alumni feels very important not only for UI, Indonesian nation but also the world community," said Chairman of ILUNI UI Arief Budhi Hardono when giving speech at the awarding of UI Alumni Appreciation Award, Wednesday (7/2) at Imeri Hall FKUI Salemba Jakarta. Also attending the event were UI Rector Mohammad Anis, State Minister for National Development Planning / Head of Bapenas Bambang Sumantri Brojonegoro, President Director of BCA, Alumni UI Jahja Setiaatmaja, UI Alumni Chairman Eman Sulaeman Nasim, UI alumni of Apreciation Award recipients, professors, deans and lecturers in the UI and Faculty and regional administrations of ILUNI.
As a form of appreciation and appreciation for the real work, the organizer of ILUNI UI gave awards of UI Alumni Appreciation Award. The second award was given to Tito Sulistio, Director of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Intellectual Property Director Freddy Haris and Director of Pelni Hospital Dr. Fathema Djan Rahmat.
According to Secretary General of ILUNI UI Andre Rahadian, he chose Tito Sulistio as alumni of UI alumni appreciation grant award in capital market, because during the time of becoming CEO of BEI managed to bring the Stock reached the highest index in history.
"Dr. Freddy Haris was elected because at the time he became Director General of AHU succeeded in accelerating the establishment of the company in Indonesia and also facilitate the access or data of the company in Indonesia became one of the important factors of Index Banking published by the World Bank," explained Andre Rahadian.
While Dr. Fathema Djan Rachmat was elected to award the award because it is considered successful in improving hospital performance as the biggest recipient of BPJS.
In his keynote address, Minister Bambang Sumatri Brodjonegoro acknowledged that UI and its alumni are taking a real role in development, especially the declining poverty rate. At the beginning of the new order with the help of UI and its alumni, the country managed to reduce the poverty rate from 40 percent to about 12 percent.
"ILUNI UI contributes significantly in achieving the target of development goals for a better Indonesia based on their respective professions and expertise," said Minister and Head of Bappenas Sumatri Brodonegoro.
Bambang Sumatri Brodjonegoro also hopes UI alumni to continue to take part and participate in the government. In addition, the government and the state also need UI alumni who care about development and poverty reduction.
Meanwhile, UI Rector Mohammad Anis conveyed that the progress of UI and its work in society and the nation is determined by the alumni and qualified lecturers. So far, UI alumni and their academic community have made a real contribution in development in Indonesia and the world.
