GMF Assists the Development of National Aircraft Maintenance Sciences

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) is assisting the development of aircraft maintenance sciences by signing a cooperation agreement with several educational institutions in the country.
GMI President Director Iwan Joeniarto said in a release received in Jakarta yesterday that the agreement was signed by Adisucipto High School of Technology Head, T. Ken Darmastono, Director of the State Polytechnic of Medan, M. Syahrudin, Rector of Suryadarma University, Polter Gultom, Director of State Polytechnic of Malang , Awan Setiawan, Director of Student Affairs and Cooperation of State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya, Drs. Zakaria, M.Pd and Assistant Director of Student Affairs & Cooperation of Batam State Polytechnic, Muslim Ansori.
Iwan said GMF will assist the formation of its syllabus so it can be approved by the Directorate of Air Service and Aircraft Operation (DKPPU) of the Ministry of Transportation. "It is expected that after graduation, students are ready to use, have basic license and can work directly," he said.
He added later graduates of this educational institution are projected to be able to assist GMF expansion projects.
GMF has also signed a civilian military maintenance cooperation with TNI AU conducted by Air Force Chief Yuyu Sutisna along with GMF President Director Iwan Joeniarto.
Through this cooperation the maintenance of Boeing 737 aircraft will be submitted by the Air Force to GMF for five years. Yuyu said that this cooperation allows to be extended.
Iwan Joeniarto also said that his side will help the Air Force in developing the capability of aircraft maintenance. "We will send GMF personnel to transfer knowledge in order to assist the TNI in maintaining its aircraft, a new breakthrough for GMF and the Air Force," he said.
In international cooperation, GMF has also signed a strategic initiative agreement with KORR Group for the development of aircraft maintenance facilities in Australia.
According to GMF President Director, Iwan Joeniarto, the Australian area was chosen because it has a high potential for maintenance market, especially in line maintenance.
Iwan said in terms of quality, GMF can compete with other world-class MRO companies.
"We need existence in the middle of the market in order to absorb even greater income," he said.
Another partnership is a partnership in the Middle East region where GMF established itself by partnering with GME Aviation, a large aviation business group in the Middle East region.
