INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) once again verified, and validated the cantrang at the Tasikagung Fishing Port (PPP), Rembang, Central Java.

The data was collected four days from February 12-15, 2018. Previously, KKP also conducted this activity in Tegal City. The data collection activities were carried out following the permission of the cantrang ship to operate again during the transitional period to the environmentally friendly fishing gear.

Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti said, the fishermen have better understand that cantrang fishing tools, can not be used continuously. The reason, cantrang can not keep the fishery business and the availability of fish resources for future generations and can damage the marine ecosystem.

"I love every time I catch it, the ship (size) 70 GT, 100 GT, (fish) which dumped at least 1 quintal, 5 quintal, sometimes up to 1 ton. If Rembang there are more than 200 ships multiplied by 200 kg only, one time ship, one day it was 40 tons of trash fish removed, "said Susi.

According to Susi, it would be better if the fish are caught with an environmentally friendly tool, does not damage the marine ecosystem with the right size. In order for marine wealth in the form of fish can be maintained which ensures the life of small fishermen to the owner of the ship can be more prosperous.

For traditional fishermen or boat owners who want to leave the cantrang fishing gear, Susi promises fisherman and boat insurance. In this case, the CTF works with SOEs.

"Later Jasindo insured the vessel, including its crew. The bank as the lender is also guaranteed so if the accident, the ship owner does not lose the vessel because it is insured, guaranteed. We will accompany, for example, the value (ship) Rp1 billion, its debts Rp700 million , means the bank is safe, the owner of the ship is safe, "said Susi.

Furthermore, said Susi, KKP ready to provide assistance to the process of credit restructuring in case of traffic jam within 1-2 years. This has become an agreement between the CTF and banks, namely BRI, BNI, Bank Mandiri, BTN, and Bank Jateng.
