PT Timah (Persero) Tbk
INDUSTRY.co.id - Pangkalpinang - As one of the company's business development to obtain new tin ore reserves in Nigeria, PT Timah Tbk will build tin ore smelter processing in the country.
"In the near future PT Timah will be able to produce tin ore and build smelters in Nigeria," said PT Timah Trenggono Sutioso Director of Business Development and Trading at a focus group discussion in Pangkalpinang, Friday (16/3/2018).
Sutioso explained that tin ore mining and smelter development in Nigeria is a follow-up to the signing of a cooperation agreement between PT Timah and Topwide Ventures Limited based in Nigeria in 2017.
"This is the first step of PT Timah's efforts to expand and acquire new tin ore reserves in Nigeria," he said.
Sutioso said the cooperation with the company in Nigeria is one of PT Timah's steps to seek and obtain new tin ore reserves.
"As it is known to get new reserves in IUP of PT Timah and IUP from other IUP which is still a constraint to obtain new mining permit area," he said.
He hopes that through this activity can be discussed this new IUP-IUP can be obtained. "Without new IUP it will be difficult to increase the productivity of the company," said Sutioso.
