INDUSTRY.co.id - Jombang - The weakening of the national economy today, coupled with the wide open imported faucet makes sugar cane farmers disappointed with the current government. Government policies that are considered pro-neo liberal that makes small people including sugar cane farmers disappointed.

They also longed for a change of national leadership. The statement was submitted by the Chairman of the National Leadership Board (DPN) of the Association of Indonesian Smallholders of Sugar Cane (APTRI), Sumitro Samadikun.

Sumitro continued, if there is no change from the current national leader, the sugar cane farmers in Indonesia will vote to support the new leader in the 2019 Presidential Election. Sumitro mentioned that one of the new leaders figure worthy of support is Rizal Ramli.

"If there is no change from the current leaders, we are ready to support Mr. Rizal Ramli (RR) as presidential candidate next year, he is a national figure who has the courage to make a breakthrough, because there is hope that this country is better led by him," said Sumitro , Thursday (29/3).

Sumitro admitted, the sugar cane farmers who joined in APTRI support Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the 2014 presidential election. At that time, it hopes Jokowi can bring a better change. But the fact is that farmers are currently marginalized by the importance of importers.

Therefore, Rizal Ramli's willingness to advance as a presidential candidate brings new hope for sugar cane farmers. The reason, they've seen the buzz of the economist, both as a minister in the cabinet of Gus Dur and even when in the cabinet Jokowi. Rizal Ramli's allegiance to the small people is clear, despite the loss of his position as an official.

"If today Rizal Ramli does not have a staging party, do not worry he has a sugar cane farmer We are active in political parties but when it comes to sugar cane we are united in cane party If we need to find a party for Mr. Rizal, he istiqomah and consistent," said Sumitro.

Meanwhile, Rizal Ramli expressed his readiness to advance as a presidential candidate. Commitment was delivered by senior economist in front of the board and sugar cane farmers who joined in APTRI. According to Gus Dur's best friend, Indonesia is a great country with tremendous natural resources. Therefore, the people should prosper. Even Indonesia should be the most prosperous country in Southeast Asia.

Therefore, according to Rizal Ramli currently there is a commitment from national leaders to prosper the people. The way to take sides with the national interest, especially the interests of the small people. Among the policies are pro on farmers and agriculture.

"Indonesia is an agrarian country, so it should be a pro national leader who will come to the farmers and farmers, for example, the government through Bulog should buy whole grain from farmers like my time to become Head of Logistics Agency (Bulog), it takes courage and commitment," concluded the former political prisoners during the New Order period.
