Universitas Indonesia Juara ICAEW Southeast Asia Business Challenge 2017
INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) - a professional membership organization that promotes, develops and supports more than 1.7 million accountants and students worldwide - will hold an annual competition, ICAEW Indonesia Business Challenge 2018 on May 3 2018 in Jakarta.
This was the second challenge after a successful premiere competition last year, and received an enormous amount of participation from university graduates across Indonesia.
ICAEW Indonesia Business Challenge is a unique tool that provides opportunities for students from leading universities in Indonesia to demonstrate their expertise and talents in finance and business.
The competition is also an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with regional sponsors, Deloitte Southeast Asia and Maybank, to see potential career opportunities or internships.
20 teams will be determined through a rigorous selection process. The competition is open for students from the fourth semester to the eighth semester in accounting. Only the two greatest teams will be selected to represent Indonesia in the 2018 South-East-Asia Business Challenge to compete with teams from five other countries in the region.
During the competition, young prospective leaders are required to analyze, recommend and present business solutions based on real business cases of reputable organizations. Each team will present to a panel of judges comprised of some of Indonesia's most respected industry professionals.
Deny Poerhadiyanto, Head of Indonesia for ICAEW, said last year it only chose 8 teams to participate in Indonesia Business Challenge. Due to the enormous enthusiasm of students and universities, it decided to expand to 20 teams to participate in this year's competition.
"This will be a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate their competency skills sought by the company, from technical to analytical skills, and soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, and communication skills," Deny said in Jakarta on Thursday (29/3/2018).
Last year, the University of Indonesia and Trisakti College of Management each had teams representing Indonesia in the regional finals. The University of Indonesia beats 10 other teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and emerges as the 2017 champion.
The champions went away with a trophy and a grand prize trip to London for free. Therefore to celebrate the victory, South-East Business Challenge 2018, will be held in Jakarta, home of the champions team.
