INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - President Jokowi believes the 4.0 industrial revolution will give birth to far more new jobs than the lost number of jobs.
"I believe that the 4.0 industrial revolution will give birth to more new jobs," said President Jokowi at the opening of Indonesia Industrial Summit 2018, at the Jakarta Convention Center on Wednesday (4/4/2018).
"It means what? Is the industrial revolution a great opportunity?" My answer, yes, if we prepare, plan and anticipate this, "he added.
Jokowi said the Industrial 4.0 revolution could be a threat or not, it depends on where we respond to the 4.0 industry revolution.
"Whether the revolution 4.0 is a threat, I think the answer, yes and no, could be yes, it depends on us," he said.
Jokowi said, 4.0 industrial revolution consists of several things. First, the combination of cloud computing or cloud computing with mobile internet, where hundreds of millions of smartphones communicate well in the cloud computing platform.
"And now it's starting to happen with hundreds of millions of smartphones every day contributing data to platforms like Google's Facebook Amazon Alibaba tensen. Thus there's a phenomenon that we call big data," he said
Then, said Jokowi, artificially intelligent, intelligent machines, new software that can look at the correlation in the big data earlier, can look at the statistical patterns in the big data. "It's cautious we must understand this," he said
Furthermore, added Jokowi, internet of thing or iot where not just a smartphone that connects to the internet but the objects around us are increasingly connected to the internet.
"These technologies, mobile Internet cloud computing and intelligent machines, artificial intelligence and then combined into a new generation of robotics such as drone aircraft, autonomous vehicles or autonomous vehicles that can drive themselves without being driven by humans," he said.
