"The increase in Riau's palm oil prices is triggered by the rise in the selling price of CPO from all sources, although the selling price of kernels is declining, but it does not affect the price," said Head of Department of Food Crops, Horticulture and Plantation Riau Ferry HC Ernaputra in Pekanbaru , Tuesday (10/4/2018).

According to Ferri, the price of CPO from PTPN V increased by Rp 97.87 / kg, Sinar Mas Group experienced an increase in price of Rp113.06 / kg, and PT Astra Agro Lestari Group experienced an increase in price of Rp 77.28 / kg .

"Riau palm oil prices for the 15th period of April 11-17, 2018 have increased in every age group of oil palm, with the largest increase is in the 10-20 year age group which experienced price increases of Rp26.14 / kg or reached 1.39 percent from last week's price, so the TBS price of the current period for the 10-20 year age group becomes Rp1,900.63 / kg, "he said.

He said that external factors triggered the rise in Riau's oil prices due to the backlog of exports, strong demand coming from China, India and Pakistan ahead of Malaysia's export tax.

In addition, lower-than-expected production growth and declining stocks were also positive sentiment that raised CPO prices.
