INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Minister of Industry (Menperin) Airlangga Hartarto is optimistic the performance of the national mamin industry will continue to be brilliant.
"In 2017, this sector is the largest contributor to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of non-oil and gas industry which reached 34.33 percent," Airlangga said in Jakarta, Monday (23/4/2018).
In addition, continued Menperin, growth of 9.23 percent or an increase when compared to the year 2016 about 8.46 percent.
Furthermore, the export value of mamin products including palm oil in 2017 recorded at USD31, 7 billion, resulting in a positive balance of trade when compared with imports of mamin products in the same period of USD9, 6 billion.
"If seen from the realization of investment in mamin industry sector in 2017, which reached Rp38, 54 trillion for PMDN and PMA for USD1, 97 billion," said Airlangga.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Agro Industry of the Ministry of Industry, Panggah Susanto, said that the national mamin industry is believed to continue to grow positively in 2018. The momentum of regional head election held this year in various regions in Indonesia has the potential to increase the consumption of local mamin products.
"The trend is the growth of the mamin industry above 7 percent, with the existence of rules or policies that support the increase in production, we are projecting the performance of the mamin industry this year at 8-9 percent, as a moderate target," he said.
For that, Panggah continued, it is absolutely necessary to synergy the programs and activities between the government and stakeholders in the development of the national mamin industry, from facilitating access to raw materials, logistics and distribution systems, and research and development activities to create innovation.
"This effort also supports in the application of Industry 4.0," Panggah said.
