Pertamina Transforms Maximize Digitization In The Lower Business Sector

Pertamina (Foto: Ist) - Jakarta - President Director of PT Pertamina Nicke Widyawati said the oil and gas (oil and gas) company is transforming to maximize digital media to target the downstream business sector.

"One of the competitions we have done is to start up to strengthen the downstream," said Nicke at Pertamina Head Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/4/2018).

PT Pertamina also did not close the possibility of partnering with the digital industry that has directly touched the community. According to the oil and gas industry to convert to the digital world has lasted long.

Therefore, Pertamina must catch up with it, after previously trying to create their own digital innovation, is now beginning to explore partnering with young digital creators.

Meanwhile, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ignasius Jonan, who was also present at Pertamina's Head Office, said that Pertamina should always start the digital industry era. "How about now?" Jonan asked Nicke.

Jonan explains that all industries are expanding toward "Industry 4.0" so it is mandatory to follow market desires. With the digital transformation, Jonan rate can reduce the risk of work accidents or losses.

Still on the same occasion, Jonan also conveyed that PT Pertamina (Persero) prepare the transformation into a chemical industry.

"If the automotive industry has switched to electric cars, how does the oil and gas industry? Yes, it must be for the chemical industry," said Jonan at Pertamina Head Office.

Furthermore, Jonan explained that the chemical industry becomes the most appropriate thing for PT Pertamina, since the age of the oil well is getting older.

In addition, oil refineries also decreased their reserves. Until now also has not found a new oil and gas source that has a lot of oil potential. (ant)
