Minister of ESDM: Seven Companies Sign Gas Sale

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ignatius Jonan mentioned that there are seven companies that will sign the gas sale and purchase transactions at the 2018 IPA Convention and Exhibition.

"We are reporting significant transactions that will be signed at the end of the convention at the end of this convention. The first is a gas sale and purchase transaction," Minister Jonan said in his opening speech at the 42nd IPA Convention and Exhibition of the Year 2018 at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (2 / 5/2018)

In front of President Joko Widodo who opened the event, Jonan said the seven gas buyers are PT Petrokimia Gresik purchased from Kangean Block. Then, the second company is PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang.

"As your directive, that fertilizer is a priority for gas supplied from the national," he told the media crew.

Another company that will sign a gas sale and purchase agreement is PT Pertamina EP for oil and gas lifting, PT Pertamina (Persero) for refinery purposes.

Furthermore, Pertagas for the interests of oil and gas lifting and electricity in Dumai; PT PGN (Persero) for the gas network in Banyuasin regency which is directly channeled to community houses, and Pertagas Niaga for industrial purposes.

The 42nd IPA Convention and Exhibition 2018 was officially opened today by President Joko Widodo, accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Linsut Binsar Panjaitan, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (LEM) Jonanti, Head of Special Upstream Business Activities Unit SKK Migas) Amin Sunaryadl, and IPA President Ronald Gunawan.

This year's Convention and Exhibition on the theme "Driving Indonesia's Oil and Gas Global Competitiveness" underscores the need to improve the competitiveness of Indonesia's upstream oil and gas sector at the global level as one of the homework that must be done by the stakeholders in this sector.

Minister Jonan also underlined the role of upstream oil and gas industry as one of the contributors to Indonesia's economic growth.

Therefore, the government continues to make efforts to improve the ease of business process in Indonesia by reducing the number of licenses and bureaucratic reform is done to encourage investment in Indonesia.
