LRT Palembang will be the latest mode of transportation in Indonesia to support the 2018 Asian Games held in Palembang in August.

To support the testing process, PT INKA has sent 2 trainset to Palembang in early April 2018. The next 6 trainset shipments will be done in June 2018, as the completeness of the total 8 trainset of LRT Palembang.

"When the situation is full, the train is able to carry about 379 passengers, both passengers sitting and passengers standing," he said.

Bayu revealed, the train is classified as a new technology in Indonesia is using the material body train (carbody) in the form of aluminum double skin or extrusion. With the average speed of the LRT train (Design Speed) is 100 km / h with Operational Speed ​​80 Km / Jam.

"The added value of the material side used, among others, the train becomes lighter so that eligible operated on elevated tracks and anti corrosion carbody," he explained.

In terms of comfort, in addition to air conditioning (air conditioning), the LRT is also installed window glass of the type of safety glass (tempered) and laminated anti UV 60% so as to reduce direct sunlight radiation.

When compared to previous trains like the Electric Railway (KRL), this LRT will be the first train in Indonesia with the taking of resources under the use of third rail, unlike KRL above by pantograf.
