Material Merapi Eruption Carried Wind to Around Boyolali

INDUSTRY.co.id - Magelang - Material eruption that spurt from the peak of Mount Merapi in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta brought wind to the north so that it happened ash rain around Boyolali regency, Friday (1/6/2018)

"When the eruption of the wind leads to the northwest, but then there is a change of wind then to the north, we have been informed that around Pos Jrakah (Boyolali) has happened ash rain," said observers of Mount Merapi at Babadan Post District Dukun, Magelang Triyono in Magelang, Friday.

Mount Merapi eruption occurred at around 08.20 WIB with duration of two minutes with a smoke column 6,000 meters.

The activity status of Mount Merapi is still at level II or alert.

Until about 9:45 am, people gathered around Pos Babadan which is about 4.4 kilometers southwest of the peak of Mount Merapi.

Other residents such as Tlatar, Sawangan, Sewukan, Jombong, Grogol (Magelang District) are also gathered at various places on the edge of their respective village roads while pointing their eyes towards the summit of Mount Merapi.

The sky around Mount Merapi looks bright so that the peak of the mountain is clearly visible.

The village chief of Krinjing Ismael said residents continue to increase the vigilance associated with the activities of Mount Merapi while carrying out daily activities such as managing agricultural land, seeking grass for livestock, and firewood for domestic purposes.

"Residents remain vigilant," he said.

When the Merapi eruption occurred on Friday morning, the village chief of Krinjing Ismael was attending the ceremony on the birthday of Pancasila in the dukun sub-district.

"I went here (Post Babadan, ed.) To participate in monitoring the progress of Merapi," said Ismael. (Ant)
