INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Independent Journalists Forum, AJI, LBH Press and FSPM requested the government to thoroughly investigate against the print media of Radar Bogor by elements of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

The Media Workers' Forum regrets that the police have not yet thoroughly investigated the first resettlement on Wednesday, so that similar action is repeated, "said FSPM Independent Chairman Sasmito Sabu (2/6/2018)

Upon the event the Media Workers Forum urged

1. PDIP leaders to call for cadres and sympathizers to stop doing destruction and cadres proven to violate the law (Barring the activities of journalism, destruction, persecution and destruction) given the toughest sanctions. The act of intimidation, staff beating and destruction of office equipment is a violation of law which can be categorized as criminal act which is very threatening democracy and press freedom in Indonesia. This attitude contradicts the values of the new Pancasila we commemorate June 1, 2018.

2. Strongly criticize the statement of members of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia PDIP Bambang Wuryanto who stated "if in Central Java the office is already flat with the land". The statement is a statement of anti-democratic freedom of the press. In addition, the statement has the potential to trigger further violence committed by cadres or sympathizers to different media opinions.

3. Police Chief General Police Tito Karnavian immediately ordered his members to thoroughly investigate the events inhibiting or obstructing the activities of journalism, penggerudukan, persecution and also destruction of office conducted by people who on behalf of the PDIP, without having to wait for reporting or complaints from the victim.

4. Chairman of the Press Council to proactively communicate with the police in the event of urgent further investigation of the act of resettlement and violence against Radar Bogor. This is in line with its mandate in Article 15 of the Press Law In an effort to develop press freedom and improve the life of the national press, an independent Press Council is established.
