10 SOEs Support Training of Internship Vocational Joint UI

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - A total of 10 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) are appointed to hold a certified internship program with Vocational Education Program of University of Indonesia as a commitment to build the competence of Human Resources (HR) Indonesia.

The 10 SOEs are PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk, PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, PT National Bank Indonesia Tbk, PT Taspen, Perum BULOG, PT Waskita Karya Tbk, Perum Perikanan Indonesia, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk and PT Perkebunan Nusantara III with two additional PT Karakatau Steel and Perum Damri.

The signing of the cooperation was witnessed by SOE Minister Rini Soemarno and UI Rector Muhammad Anis while the signing was done by the directors of BUMN and the Director of Vocational Education Program UI Sigit Pranowo Hadiwardoyo.

"I emphasize that this program is a mutually beneficial synergy, I continue to encourage SOEs to not only carry out their duties as agents of national development, but also continue to participate in encouraging the younger generation who are highly competitive and remain the preferred personnel in their own country especially to face era of globalization, "said Rini in the Auditorium of Vocational Education Program UI, Depok, Thursday (06/28/2018)

Rini delivered a scientific oration entitled "The Role of BUMNs in Improving the Quality of Vocational Education" in the framework of the 10th Anniversary of Vocational Education Program of University of Indonesia (UI).

In his oration, he said the involvement of SOEs in the Vocational Education Program is a form of SOEs commitment as an extension of the government in supporting the progress and independence of the nation.

He also said the involvement of SOEs in the vocational program is a synergy that is mutually beneficial because the superior human resources born from this program will also become an alternative source of BUMN recruitment.

Sigit Pranowo, on the same occasion, said the vocational program is one of the programs that prepare students to become experts and professionals who apply, develop and disseminate technology and art and culture as an effort to improve people's lives.

Through skills education and expertise, this program is directed to master the ability in certain areas of work so that participants can be directly absorbed as workers in industry, government institutions or self-employed independently.

"This partnership will further strengthen the collaboration between higher education and industry that will provide substantial benefits not only for university graduates, but for enhancing the nation's competitiveness more broadly," he said.

Vocational Education Program UI runs the curriculum 321 as proclaimed by the Ministry of Research and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia.

Implementation of education and training together in semesters 4 and 5 is a form of real cooperation between universities and industry.

There are also study programs that are Accounting, Tourism, Communication, Information and Document Management, Hospitals, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Office Administration and Secretariat, Taxation, Finance and Banking Administration, Insurance and Actuary Administration.
