CSR, SCG Gives Scholarships for 400 High School Students

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- SCG's leading business conglomerate in ASEAN, today officially provides 400 scholarships for high school students from Jakarta, Bogor, Cileungsi, Karawang, South Tangerang, Sukabumi, and Bayah.
The scholarship award ceremony held on Thursday (10/8/2017) at Balai Kartini Jakarta is part of the company's social initiative, SCG Sharing the Dream.
In the seventh year of the program, SCG reinforces its belief in the importance of education in bringing a better life and an important element of Indonesia's sustainable development.
Country Director SCG Indonesia, Nantapong Chantrakul at the opening of SCG Sharing the Dream scholarship event revealed,
"For SCG Sharing the Dream in Indonesia this year, we want to highlight the importance of every student to have good moral values and attitudes," he hopes.
Therefore, SCG scholarship recipients not only have outstanding academic records, but also uphold the family's gratitude and respect for teachers as supporting and assisting them in achieving their dreams.
This year, therefore, has the theme "Bagimu Guruku" to strengthen the mindset of the students in upholding the teachers' respect as the second parents in school.
SCG Sharing the Dream this year received good responses from various schools seen from the number of applicants to reach more than 1300 students.
In addition, SCG employees also play an important role during the 'Home Visit' - which is a series of activities to gather applicant information by visiting selected student families' homes.
Through collaboration between volunteers from SCG and the Ancora Foundation, Home Visit also contributes significantly to the selection process of scholarship recipients where SCG can, forge closer relationships with surrounding communities.
