Gojek Ensure Expansion to Four Countries

INDUSTRY.co.id - Surabaya- Online application-based transport service provider, GoJek ensures that it has expanded or expanded its network to four countries in Southeast Asia, namely Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

Vice President Corporate Communications, Michael Say in Surabaya, Thursday (12/07/2018) said, for Vietnam the name of the application will change and no longer use the name GoJek but GoViet, while in Thailand the name is Get.

"For the other two countries namely Singapore and the Philippines have not been announced, and soon in 2018 we will do a soft launch for the two countries," Muchael told the media crew.

He said, for operations in Vietnam and Thailand scheduled at the end of July 2018, while still involving local wisdom of local transportation.

Related applications in Indonesia, whether it can be used in four countries, Michael Say can not claim, because users in Indonesia is different from those four countries.

"Certainly different, meaning that if Indonesian users come to the four countries that have to download another application back," he said.

He said the development of the network to four countries is done after seeing the market in the country, or the same that GoJek done in some areas in Indonesia by looking at the needs of the community market first.

"The expansion we are doing to some countries, such as our one in Indonesia, for example in Gorontalo which still involves users of three-wheeled transportation, not just motorcycles or two wheels and cars," he said.

Previously, SVP Public Policy and Government Relations of GO-JEK Indonesia, Malikulkusno Utomo admitted to have prepared all infrastructure for the development of GoJek to several countries.

In addition, he said, the product and the name remain to be adjusted to the name of each country that the purpose of cooperation, by inviting the cooperation of local businessmen.
