INDUSTRY.co.id - Denpasar - The manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, said the operations at the local airport were running normally after the earthquake that rocked Lombok, NTB, with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale and aftershocks of 5.6 on the Richter scale.

"Runways, taxiways and airplane aprons have not been damaged. Operations in the land and air areas are normal," I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Arie Ahsanurrohim, Head of Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura I, said in Denpasar on Sunday. 8/2018)

It has been checked during in the air area to ensure the reliability of the flight facilities and is ensured to be safe for flights.

Arie added that operational officers in the field also examined the structure of the terminal building as a whole.

However, there were some minor damage such as a number of ceilings in the terminal building which collapsed due to strong shocks.

"We will make repairs as soon as possible for less than 24 hours because they are not related to the building structure," he said. There were no fatalities or injuries caused by the release of several ceilings in several corners of the airport terminal building.

Previously around 19.46 pm, an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter Scale rocked Lombok, NTB until it was felt in Bali with a strong shock.

BMKG said that the earthquake centered on land at a depth of 10 kilometers located about 18 kilometers northwest of East Lombok had the potential to cause a tsunami.
 

After a few minutes, precisely at 20.49 the earthquake with an intensity of 5.6 on the Richter scale returned. BMKG has disabled tsunami early warning. (Ant)
