INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Krakatau Steel Tbk (KRAS) hopes that the operation of the PT Krakatau Nippon Steel Sumikin (KNSS) plant can be substituted for the import of automotive products. Just so you know, KNSS is a joint venture company between KRAS and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation Group.
KNSS itself produces cold-rolled annealed steel, hot-dip galvanized steel and galvanealed with a production capacity of 480,000 metric tons per year.
Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi, President Director of KRAS said that by commercially operating the KNSS plant could suppress production imports for the needs of the automotive industry. Therefore, he hopes the domestic automotive industry can absorb KNSS production.
"We hope that the automotive industry from Japan has been operating in Indonesia for decades to be willing to use KNSS products," he said, Tuesday (7/8).
Currently to meet production needs, local automotive producers still rely on imports. The existence of KNSS according to him is a solution for the needs of the automotive industry, especially Japanese car manufacturers operating in Indonesia.
"With the commercial KNSS it will reduce import dependence, with this also can provide profits for the automotive industry," he continued.
Currently, he said the company is focused on developing the company to achieve good performance. He stated that this factory would meet the needs of the domestic market in the future.
