INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta-Mayapada Healthcare and GE Healthcare agreed to establish strategic partnerships in the health sector to support the development of Mayapada Healthcare in Indonesia worth US $ 16.2 million. The partnership is in terms of technology and solutions for six new Mayapada Healthcare hospitals.

The new hospitals to be built are located in South Jakarta, Bandung, Central Jakarta (Kuningan area), Surabaya, Bogor and Cakung. This development is part of Mayapada Healthcare's vision to become a leading health care provider in Indonesia.

The strategic partnership was marked by the signing of the agreement by the Deputy Chairman of Mayapada Group, Jonathan Tahir and President & CEO of GE Healthcare ASEAN, Korea & ANZ, Myra Eskes

In this US $ 16.2 million strategic partnership, GE Healthcare provides strategic consultations on hospital planning, life cycle management and capacity building for health workers.

Over the next three years, GE Healthcare will provide technology support and solutions for six new Mayapada Healthcare hospitals and provide strategic support in improving technical and clinical effectiveness, hospital design and workflow, and life cycle management. The new hospitals to be built are located in South Jakarta, Bandung, Central Jakarta (Kuningan area), Surabaya, Bogor and Cakung. This development is part of Mayapada Healthcare's vision to become a leading health care provider in Indonesia.

This cooperation agreement is part of the collaboration that has been established between GE Healthcare and Mayapada Healthcare. We have understood the vision of Mayapada Healthcare from the collaboration that has been established for 10 years. And I believe, this strategic collaboration will bring positive changes to health service standards in Indonesia by improving access, quality and affordability, he explained.

The Indonesian government is currently working on improving health services by ensuring that every citizen is protected by JKN-KIS and continues to increase the number and quality of facilities in the health sector. Currently JKN-KIS membership has exceeded 198.8 million people, which means nearly 80% of the total population. With this amount, the government welcomed the existence of a hospital that provides health services for JKN-KIS participants.
