INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, MINI Indonesia celebrated the completion of the last unit from the first batch of production of the New MINI Countryman which was assembled locally at the BMW Group Production Network 2, PT Gaya Motor. This program marked a successful journey that began with the launch and MINI in Indonesia in 2011.
In a short time, MINI has formed a large fan base in Indonesia, and continues to grow. This achievement is evidenced by the addition of a new dealer earlier this year.
For the first time in the history of MINI Indonesia, the New MINI Countryman was assembled domestically. This is a remarkable achievement for and with unique niches like MINI.
The New MINI Countryman is the largest size MINI model in the current product line, offering a series of the most comprehensive new features among all MINI models including innovation in terms of layout, function, design and premium characteristics.
This celebration also marks MINI Indonesia's ability to present high-quality vehicles with faster waiting times for Indonesian customers.
The new MINI Countryman assembled in Indonesia comes in two variants - the New MINI Cooper Countryman and the New MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports. The New MINI Countryman is the only premium compact segment vehicle that is assembled locally in Indonesia for now.
Ramesh Divyanathan, President Director of BMW Group Indonesia, said that BMW Group Indonesia continues to improve domestic assembly processes to achieve sustainable business growth. Indonesia is an important market for this strategy and MINI has great potential both in the medium and long term.
According to him, this is one of the reasons MINI Indonesia decided to assemble the New MINI Countryman locally. Since its introduction six years ago, MINI has experienced fantastic growth in Indonesia.
"This growth is evidenced by the increasing number of new MINI fans in Indonesia who pushed MINI's decision to present the locally assembled New MINI Countryman. This step once again highlights MINI's commitment to placing its customers as the focus of the MINI strategy. Where MINI customers will get high-quality vehicles with competitive prices and faster delivery times, "Ramesh said in Jakarta (6/9/2018).
Ramesh added, additional investments had been made with our strategic partners, namely PT Gaya Motor and PT Tjahja Sakti Motor, to assemble the New MINI Countryman in Indonesia.
"In addition, this initiative also allows the transfer of technology, which has a positive impact on the development of the automotive industry in Indonesia," added Ramesh.
Kidd Yam, Head of MINI Asia is proud of the achievement of MINI Indonesia, in the first batch of the newly assembled Indonesian MINI Countryman.
"We launched two variants, namely the New MINI Cooper Countryman and the New MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports, where this variant comes with abundant features, including the John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit, MINI Head-Up Display, Parking Assistant with rear-view camera, Harman Kardon 12-Loudspeaker HiFi System, and John Cooper Works Course 19 Inch Spoke 2-Tone wheels that reinforce a sporty feel, "said Kidd.
Both of these variants are sold at very competitive prices, Rp. 599,000,000 (off-the-road) for the New MINI Cooper Countryman and Rp. 769,000,000 (off-the-road) for the New MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports, equipped with MINI Service Inclusive, free routine maintenance for 5 year or 70,000 km, whichever comes first, and a 36-month warranty without mileage limitation.
